Who is Bread Garden KidsEat!™?

KidsEat! started when Samantha Wilson, President of Kidproof Canada®, the leading provider of child safety education in Canada, learned her son’s hot school lunch program was being discontinued. Samantha, a busy mom herself, wanted to ensure that all families would have access to a healthy, delicious and convenient hot lunch option in their school, and KidsEat! was born.
Why should my school order from the Bread Garden KidsEat!™ lunch program?
Bread Garden KidsEat!™ is not just another school lunch provider. In addition to offering delicious food, we encourage families to choose healthy lifestyles by helping provide healthy, affordable and nutritionally-balanced lunches to elementary school-aged kids.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to almost every school district in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley of B.C. and are adding areas weekly.
Do Bread Garden KidsEat!™ lunch menu options meet the new BC Guidelines for Food and Beverage Sales in schools?
Yes! Bread Garden KidsEat!™ exceeds the minimum requirements of the Guidelines for Food and Beverage Sales for schools. Our school menu provides a wholesome selection that includes 60 percent “Choose Most” items and 40 percent “Choose Sometimes” items. Click for a complete nutrient analysis.
Are Bread Garden KidsEat!™ foods listed on the Brand Name Food List for BC?
Yes! Bread Garden KidsEat!™ meals have been analyzed by a certified nutritionist and entered into the Dieticians of Canada’s analysis system. This means that we are one of the few children’s caterers that can be listed on the Brand Name Food List of approved foods. We are very proud! http://www.brandnamefoodlist.ca/
How do I choose which lunch menu options I would like to have offered at my school?
All of our school menus can be found here, or our program coordinator will fax or email them to you. Simply decide if you wish to have a full meal option or order individual items. Then, make your selections from each category (entree, side, dessert and drink) and we do the rest!
Does your school menu have any meatless/vegetarian options?
Yes. We have many meatless options.
Where is your food prepared/delivered from?
All Bread Garden KidsEat!™ food is prepared and delivered at our top-of-the-line Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) accredited 30,000 square-foot facility. Everyone working in our kitchen meets the highest food safety standards and practices.
How are the Bread Garden KidsEat!™ meals packaged and delivered?
All of our school menu items are delivered in the best-you-can-buy professional catering containers, which not only keep hot food hot and cold food crisp, but ensure food safe temperatures are always met. Cold food is packaged by student or division and individually labelled. Hot food is separated by menu item. An easy-to-read order sheet listing each student’s complete order is provided to help teachers/lunch monitors hand out the lunches quickly and easily. Bread Garden KidsEat!™ is committed to using as much recyclable packaging as possible.
What about peanuts/nuts?
Our recipes are nut free, however, we cannot guarantee that any food from an outside source has not been exposed to nuts or traces of nuts. Because of this, students with severe allergies are not recommended to order.
Our school used to do hot dog days, can you help us?
Bread Garden KidsEat!™ offers many specialty items such as the Hot Diggity Dog Lunch Pack which meets all school menu guidelines and even includes mini donuts!
How do we include our school in your delivery schedule?
It’s easy!
We can add schools to our delivery schedule at any time, however, it may take up to two weeks before the first meal can be delivered.
If parents of your school wish to order Bread Garden KidsEat!™ for their kids, and you are not already on our delivery schedule, please fill out our delivery form at the bottom of the page or give us a call at 604-833-7917. We will do our best to include your school within a two week turnaround.
How can you help my school raise funds for school programs?
Yes! There are two ways…
Custom price your school menu:
Schools can mark up menu items for hot lunch days, Hot Diggity Dog days, Super Snack days or any custom menu or fundraising theme of your choice. We will issue your school a cheque for the difference between the marked up price and the Bread Garden KidsEat!™ price upon conclusion of the event. It’s that easy!
Bread Garden KidsEat!™ Referral Rewards Program:
We know you’ll love the ease and quality of our lunches so much you’ll want to share the experience with other schools! For each new school you refer that schedules a minimum of three lunches with Bread Garden KidsEat!™ (minimum $750 value per lunch), we will grant your school a $200 CASH award to use toward the program of your choice – be it library books, computers or whatever your school needs most.
Do schools need to do anything to offer Bread Garden KidsEat!™ lunches to their parents?
If you wish to include your school, all you have to do is fill out the form below to request your school be included in the schedule.
We will contact you to confirm your request and get the details on your school, lunch time and order schedule. Once you have selected your menu (or we can do it for you if you like), we will custom design an order form that you can use to distribute to your school community.
What if I need to cancel my lunch order?
You may cancel your lunch order anytime before close of business on the Wednesday prior to the week your lunch is scheduled to be delivered. Please email us at info@breadgardenkidseat.com or call 604-833-7917.
Our school wants to have Bread Garden KidsEat!™ on our regular hot lunch program, how do we sign up?
Bread Garden KidsEat!™ is a fantastic addition to your school-wide lunch program. Delivery can be once per month, per week or even every day, it’s your choice! Our school lunch menu is large enough to offer a variety of meals throughout the entire school year.
Remember, the more you order, the more funds you can raise for your school!
